Co-efficient of Friction

The Coefficient of Friction of a material is the measure of the sliding resistance of a material over another material. In the case of thermoplastics the mating part is normally steel. When multiplying the co-efficient of friction by the perpendicular force between the two mating sliding faces, this result is the force required to slide the components across each other.
